The WWE Backlash premium live event took place from San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday night and Bad Bunny faced off against Damian Priest in a street fight. At one point The Judgment Day interfered on Damian Priest’s behalf, so Rey Mysterio made his way out to help Bad Bunny.
Unfortunately for Rey he was outnumbered and The Judgment Day got the better of him. However, Carlito shocked the world when he made his surprise return and he ran down to the ring to even the odds. The fans in Puerto Rico were thrilled to see Carlito on WWE programming again and fans on social media have been wondering if he might be making more appearances in the future.
Ahead of his surprise appearance at Backlash, Carlito spoke to Metro UK about a possible WWE return, and he indicated that he’s open to offers, but he doesn’t sit around waiting for a phone call.
“Yeah, I’m open to whatever, any good offer from anywhere, it doesn’t matter. Thing is, nobody calls me so I don’t sit by the phone either. If something comes up, great, if not I keep doing what I’m doing.”
Carlito first debuted on WWE programming in 2004 and he defeated John Cena to win the United States Championship during his first match on the main roster. He maintained a consistent presence on WWE programming until he was released in 2010, and since then he has made sporadic appearances on WWE TV.
Prior to his surprise return at Backlash, Carlito entered the men’s Royal Rumble match in 2021, and he last wrestled in a WWE ring when he teamed with Jeff Hardy the next night on Raw.
