Over the last few years there have been many wrestlers who have been able to reach the next level and Drew McIntyre is a great example. McIntyre has managed to become a two time WWE Champion, but it looks like he could be on his way out of the company.
Recently there’s been a lot of talk about Drew McIntyre’s contract status with WWE as his deal is set to expire at the end of the year. The two sides are said to be far apart on money and have not come to terms on a new deal.
In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter it was noted that right now the idea is that there’s a good chance Drew McIntyre will be leaving WWE, so it’s possible that he could turn heel and work a program for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on his way out.
“Because McIntyre right now is working with the idea there’s a good chance he’s finishing up, he could do a big program for the title as a challenger and finally leave.”
McIntyre hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since WrestleMania 39 and it’s also being reported that he’s expected to be out for at least a few more weeks. Stay tuned for updates.
