Roman Reigns is the man to beat in WWE at the moment and it’s been some time since anyone on the roster has been able to defeat him. Cody Rhodes stepped up to challenge The Tribal Chief for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39, but unfortunately for Cody he failed to win the gold.
Cody and Roman were recently drafted to separate brands which seems to indicate that their feud is over for now. With no Cody vs. Roman rematch in sight fans can’t help but wonder who The Tribal Chief’s next challenger could be.
WWE has yet to make any sort of announcement regarding who will challenge Roman Reigns next, but WrestleVotes recently told GiveMeSport that Vince McMahon has been pitching ideas that haven’t been well received by WWE creative.
“I was told that Vince McMahon has pitched several ideas for Roman Reigns’ next challenger. A few of them were even kind of scoffed at, like that that doesn’t make any sense.”
There’s currently no word on who Roman’s next challenger will be, but it’s expected that plans for the title picture will become more clear coming out of the upcoming Backlash premium live event. Stay tuned for updates.
