A few years ago MJF, FTR, Tully Blanchard, Wardlow and Shawn Spears came together to form The Pinnacle and the group went on to feud with the Inner Circle in AEW.
Dax Harwood has recently been reflecting on the group’s run on his FTR with Dax Harwood podcast, and he noted on the show that there was talk of Britt Baker and Serena Deeb possibly joining the group.
“We really wanted Britt, and there were talks of Britt being in the group, but Britt is a standalone star, no one needs to mess with her, she’s great. The other one that I really wanted and talk to Tony (Khan) about, he was pretty excited and had the idea, was Serena Deeb. Up until that point, she had been a babyface, but I thought she really fit what the Pinnacle was, especially Cash and myself, just an incredible wrestler who is considered a badass among the women. Those are the two, and the closest was probably Serena Deeb.”
FTR recently returned to AEW TV at the Revolution pay-per-view and the duo has their sights set on the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Dax has openly said that FTR’s contracts with AEW are set to expire in April, and he recently insisted that nothing has changed with their contract status while encouraging fans to wait and see how things play out.
