The current WWE regime has been on a signing spree over the last few months and it’s believed that the company is looking to sign more wrestlers in the months to come.
Fightful Select reports that WWE has internally expressed interest in Tama Tonga. It’s being said that WWE’s interest in Tama Tonga isn’t new, but word started the rounds in the NJPW locker room ahead of Wrestle Kingdom 17. Tama Tonga faced off against a current WWE star at Wrestle Kingdom 17 when he defeated Karl Anderson for the NEVER Openweight Championship.
Tama Tonga had an offer to sign with WWE seven years ago, but instead he decided to go to NJPW and team with his brother Tanga Loa. Tama Tonga’s NJPW contract is reportedly up in a few weeks. In addition to NJPW, Tama Tonga has also wrestled for Impact and ROH.
WWE has also shown interest in Tama Tonga’s brother Hikuleo. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
