Sasha Banks walked out of WWE Monday Night Raw back in May and it’s been reported that The Boss negotiated her WWE departure months ago under the condition that she can’t take wrestling related bookings until January 1st.
January is right around the corner, and it’s expected that Sasha Banks will be appearing at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4th. AEW is also teasing that Saraya will be teaming up with a mystery partner on an upcoming episode of Dynamite, and fans have speculated that the mystery partner could be Sasha Banks.
Booker T recently addressed the possibility of Sasha Banks joining AEW on his Hall of Fame podcast and he stated that he thinks Banks would overshadow the rest of the AEW women’s division.
“Putting Sasha Banks over by saying, ‘yeah I think she would do well over there [Japan],’ I don’t think that’s something that I would retract or anything like that. Do I think she would do well in AEW? I think she would overshadow anything that’s going on in AEW from the women’s side more than anything. I mean it’s not anybody over there other than Britt Baker that I think she really that matches up with her from a star power perspective, that’s just me.
“That’s just my personal opinion. I could be wrong. But I don know in Japan she’s gonna have a whole lot of competition as far as going out and seeing how tough, you know what I mean, how good she really is because those women, as well as the men, in Japan take this business more serious more so than most.”
