Kurt Angle wrestled his final match when he was defeated by Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35 and he’s been retired ever since. Despite the fact that he’s remained retired Angle has said in the past that All Elite Wrestling made him an offer to return.
During a recent episode of the Kurt Angle Show the former WWE Champion shared more details on his talks with AEW and he noted that he told Tony Khan he would wrestle ten matches for 3 million dollars.
“It’s gonna have to be a substantial amount of money too. I do remember Tony Khan, you know, wanted me to come in and wrestle for him. This was like when they first started. And I said for 10 matches I want 3 million, that’s 300 grand a match.”
Ultimately Kurt Angle didn’t end up joining AEW, but there’s no telling what the future might hold. Even though Kurt Angle is currently retired he did indicate that he’s open to returning to the ring after having both his knees replaced when he said, “I’ve told so many reporters and people from the news that I was done but there is a chance that I might end up coming back. I don’t know when, but it’ll probably be for one last match. I didn’t wanna do that until my knees got better but I’m not gonna lie to you. I think about it all the time. I possibly could [return], yes.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Kurt Angle’s future as they become available.
