A few weeks ago Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of Monday Night Raw and WWE later announced that the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions had been suspended indefinitely. Recently Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc. reported that Sasha Banks had been released from WWE, but the release has yet to be confirmed.
Fightful Select followed up with a report saying, “The claim, again, unverified by us as of yet, were that Banks’ lawyers were involved and there had been eyes on a physical WWE release.”
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast noted on Thursday that he has not yet confirmed the report, but he added that Sasha’s lawyers are working on getting her release. “I cannot confirm she’s been released. But, I did hear late last week that her attorneys were working on getting this done,” Zarian claimed.
While WWE has yet to confirm the release it’s worth noting that the company is not denying the release reports either. Since walking out of WWE on May 16th neither Sasha Banks nor Naomi have publicly commented on the situation. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
