The Royal Rumble pay-per-view aired live from St. Louis on Saturday night, and the show featured some interesting moments to say the least. Brock Lesnar defended the WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley at the event, and it was Lashley who walked out with the gold after Roman Reigns interfered and Heyman turned on Lesnar.
It looks like Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title is pretty much set in stone for WrestleMania 38, but plans for the WWE Title match are seemingly up in the air.
After he dropped the WWE Championship to Lashley fans saw Brock Lesnar enter and win the 30 man Royal Rumble match later in the show. WrestleVotes reports that Brock had to be the winner because WWE legitimately has no idea what the WWE Title match will be at WrestleMania 38, and they didn’t want to pigeon hole themselves.
Lesnar had to be the winner here. I’m told they legitimately have no idea what the WWE Title match at Mania is going to be at this point. Avoid the ol pigeon hole.

One way or another it’s going to be interesting to see where the title picture goes from here as Big E was being pushed as the top face on Raw for the last few months, but the former champion was recently moved to SmackDown.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
