King of the Ring was at one point one of the most prestigious tournaments in all of professional wrestling, but it’s been a few years since a king has been crowned. It’s been rumored that WWE is planning to hold the first ever Queen of the Ring tournament this year, and it looks like King of the Ring will be returning as well.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast reported that WWE will be holding a Queen of the Ring tournament in October, and now Zarian is reporting that King of the Ring will also take place in October.
The finals for both tournaments will take place at WWE’s next event in Saudi Arabia, which is rumored for October 21.

The last King of the Ring tournament took place in 2019 and it was won by Baron Corbin who embraced the King Corbin gimmick after his victory. However, Corbin lost his crown to Shinsuke Nakamura back in June.
