The wrestling world has changed quite a bit over the last few years thanks to the emergence of All Elite Wrestling. The landscape is different nowadays as AEW has been crossing over with companies such as Impact, NJPW and NWA.
Nia Jax has also come a long way as she’s won multiple championships and she’s established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the WWE women’s division. But when Nia first arrived on the main roster it was clear that WWE wanted to get some momentum behind her when she showed up and squashed a “local competitor” on Raw in July of 2016.
Today the wrestling world knows that “local competitor” as current AEW star Britt Baker, and WWE recently shared a clip from the match when the company posted the following on Instagram:
Recently it was reported that WWE is in talks with NJPW about the two companies potentially working together. AEW President Tony Khan reacted to the news by cutting a promo calling out WWE President Nick Khan, and telling him that there’s only room for one Khan in the wrestling business.
The AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view will air live tonight, and Britt Baker is set to challenge Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s Championship. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
