Tamina and Natalya have both been with WWE for a long time, but as of late their careers have been rejuvenated, and the company seems committed to pushing them. Recently on SmackDown the duo picked up a big win when they defeated Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that one of the big factors regarding the push is the reaction that Tamina received at WrestleMania 37.
According to the report WWE officials decided to move forward with the push because fans got behind the team, and the decision was made. It was also noted that WWE is often criticized for not listening to the fans, but this time they did.
As of this writing Natalya and Tamina are not currently part of tonight’s card for WrestleMania Backlash. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
