It’s no big secret that WWE officials have been trying to lock their talents into long term deals over the last few years, but things took a drastic turn when WWE released a number of talents due to coronavirus related budget cuts in April of 2020.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that talents who haven’t made a name for themselves are being offered deals worth $250,000 per year.
It was also noted that “there isn’t the exceeding your downside because there are no house shows and PPV bonuses.”
The deals are said to be for three to five years.
It’s worth noting that Fightful Select recently reported that all RETRIBUTION members, not including Mustafa Ali, were offered three year deals worth $250,000 a year last fall.
The deals were reported to be “significantly lower” than what WWE had been offering over the last two years.
It’s also being reported that numerous talents have passed on signing new contracts, and they’re waiting until things change and their leverage is better.
