Kofi Kingston has been with WWE for a long time, and last year he took his career to a whole new level when he defeated Daniel Bryan to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
During his title reign Kofi took on all comers, but when he encountered Brock Lesnar during the premiere of SmackDown on FOX in October of 2019 Kofi was squashed, and his title reign came to an end in a matter of seconds.
Kofi getting squashed by Brock Lesnar has been a hot topic on social media recently after Big E said on Talking Smack that he thought it was disrespectful that Kofi didn’t get a rematch for the title after Brock defeated him.
Former WWE writer Dave Schilling chimed in and noted that no one backstage was pulling for Kofi when he posted, “I was there. I saw it. No one who had any real sway believed in Kofi.”
He went on to claim that WWE planned to have Brock Lesnar squash Kofi from day one.
“The plan was Kofi getting squashed by Brock from DAY ONE of his title reign. DAY ONE!”

Shortly after his title reign Kofi Kingston went right back into the tag team division and he’s been working there ever since.
A few weeks ago on TV he noted that he’s dealing with an undisclosed injury, and he encouraged Big E to pursue a singles run while he’s away.
