Mick Foley is a WWE Hall of Famer, and although he’s been retired from in-ring competition for quite some time he faced some of the best talents that the world of professional wrestling had to offer throughout his career.
This week on WWE SmackDown Kofi Kingston announced that he’s injured, and he’ll be out of action for six weeks. Kofi then encouraged Big E to pursue a singles run while he and Xavier Woods are out of action.
Mick Foley recently took to Twitter to show his support for a Big E singles run, and he had some encouraging things to say about the former Intercontinental Champion.
“I believe, and I don’t want to overdo the racing metaphors, but if Big E can shift into high gear, and really put the foot down on the accelerator and remind people the work it took to look the way he does that you don’t get to be one of the most powerful men the sport has ever known through good humor alone, and charisma.”
“This is a guy who worked his butt off. I believe that he can show a different side of himself, a little bit more seriousness, a little bit more anger when the situation calls for it, that he would go down in history as one of the great WWE superstars. I hope that it happens. It’s all about stepping your foot on the accelerator and I believe he can do it.”
Only time will tell how successful Big E’s singles run will be, but it’s certainly clear that he has the support of Mick Foley.
