It’s been a while since fans have seen Alberto Del Rio wrestle a match inside a WWE ring, but the former World Heavyweight Champion has been making headlines lately as he was reportedly arrested for sexual assault.
News4SanAntonio has some more details on the arrest, and it was noted that the victim came forward with photos. An affidavit for Del Rio, real name Jose A. Rodriguez Chucuan, shows that the woman claims he assaulted her multiple times.
The most recent incident between Del Rio and the victim took place on May 3 when he accused her of being unfaithful. The victim claims that Del Rio became angry when she wouldn’t admit to infidelity, so he slapped her across the head then took her to a downstairs bedroom and continued to slap her 8 more times.
The victim also claims that he forced her to put on a dress and dance for him, and when she refused he told her not to cry and threatened to take her son and “drop him off in the middle of the road somewhere,” if she did cry.
The police said that he then tied the woman’s hands with boxing straps, and put a sock in her mouth as he used various objects to sexually assault her for several hours. According to the investigators on the case he also punched her in the back and caused visible injuries. The victim claims she does not remember much after Del Rio placed his hand around her throat.
He was charged with Sexual Assault, a 2nd degree felony, and his bond was set at $50,000. According to records he posted bond and was released from jail at 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
