Even though both sides have downplayed the idea of a war between the two brands, it’s clear that AEW and WWE aren’t exactly on the same page.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there’s a convention in New York this weekend called The Big Event, and part of the stipulations for the event is that WWE talents are not allowed to be booked with any AEW talents.
The stipulation says a lot about the current political landscape in the world of professional wrestling.
Matt Hardy was booked for the event when he was under contract with WWE, but after he left the company it became an issue.
Even though Hardy was booked when he was with WWE, it would have been an issue if he appeared on AEW Dynamite this week. Matt did not appear on Dynamite, therefore he will still be appearing at The Big Event.
