Triple H has been lucky enough to have a long career in the world of professional wrestling, but nowadays he spends most of his time working behind the scenes as opposed to in the ring.

The Game has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, but at 52 years old it’s clear that the former WWE Champion has more days behind him than in front of him when it comes to in ring competition.

During a recent media call for NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Triple H talked about the possibility of wrestling in a retirement match, and he noted that he’s not afraid the work it would take, but he struggles to find the time he would need to get in the proper shape.

“I’m at the point where to me, the in-ring stuff is bonus. It’s funny—[Ric] Flair calls me all the time to tell me, ‘You have to get back in the ring. You have to go to WrestleMania you have to have that closure and do this, whatever, a ‘retirement match.’

There’s a part of me that wants to do it, and then there’s just a bigger part of me that says, ‘I’m so busy 24/7, that to even try and contemplate how to train in the way I would want to train and get in-shape—and by shape, I don’t mean look—in-shape ring wise so you don’t embarrass yourself once you get in there at 52. It’s a lot of work and I don’t know that I have—I’m not afraid of the work. If I could make more hours in the day, I could find time to do it. It’s just time.”
