If you’re a brand new fan to WWE, then first off: welcome. You also might only know Luke Harper as one-half of the very large hammer-wielding Bludgeon Brothers but there was a time when Harper used to talk even less and was even creepier.

During his time in the Wyatt Family and afterward when he tried to branch out on his own, Harper wore a white tank top commonly referred to as something that we can’t call it anymore without upsetting people. These white pieces of clothing weren’t actually white at all. In fact, they were stained and looked absolutely filthy. He did wear a black one a time or two and when he did the internet exploded. This is an illustration of how important that white tank top was to his character.

Harper spoke to All Wrestling.com Week In Review and as it turns out that white tank top meant way more to him than most would think. There’s also a very good reason why it always looked disgusting because Harper’s only owned 3 of them and he’s had them forever.

“If you’re a fan of Indie wrestling at all, you can go back to I think 2007/2008 and you can see me wrestle CHIKARA. And you can see me wrestle in a tank top and you can see me wrestle in a tank top that doesn’t look like the one I have in WWE. But it’s the same one.”

“People don’t believe me. I have three tank tops which I wrung terribly, fixed them many times. I had people rip them in the ring and swear at them and I’d fix them. And they’re hanging in my closet now.”

Let’s hope that’s true because not only is it awesome to picture Harper stitching up the same white tank top for twenty years but it’s also pretty impressive he was able to fight the urge to just go to the store and buy another package of them for $10.

Harper wore those tank tops for years and you have to wonder if he misses them. It would be reasonable to assume he holds a great fondness for them seeing how Harper still has them hanging in his closet like he’s ready to bust one out at any given notice.

But now Harper wears something totally different as a Bludgeon Brother but he gets a giant hammer to lug around, so that’s cool.
