A few months ago Vince McMahon made a shocking announcement when he revealed that the XFL will be returning in 2020.
It looks like McMahon will be taking a very different, more hands off approach with the XFL this time around, and he’s putting together a team of people with experience.
Today it was announced that former NFL and NCAA executive and quarterback Oliver Luck will be the Commissioner & CEO of the XFL.
Luck appeared in a video saying that he’s thrilled to have the opportunity to reimagine football, and that fans can expect a fast paced, high-energy, simpler game.
He noted games will be affordable for the entire family, and that just last week the league submitted their proposal to 30 markets across the US.
8 teams will be selected to launch the league in 2020.
Vince McMahon also commented on Oliver Luck’s role by saying that his experience will ensure the long term success of the league.
