ESPN’s 30 for 30 series is a highly respected and professionally produced documentary series that has covered all aspects of sporting events, teams, and personalities. ESPN’s award winning series is also no stranger to covering sports entertainment.
In 2015, they produced an episode surrounding the WWE Performance Center and NXT developmental program in Orlando that received very good reviews. The “WWE Behind The Curtain” episode was met with a generally favorable response from fans, as it showcased goings-on that some might not be privy to.
The series also produced an episode about Ric Flair that is slated to air sometime in the spring according to the Nature Boy. Ric allegedly received some heat in the WWE offices because it is said that he bladed on camera for the documentary to demonstrate the proper way to “get color” in a match.
Tonight’s episode of 30 for 30 is going to be a mixture of both WWE and football when they take on the XFL as their subject matter. This episode is needless to say, highly expected and has been prefaced by WWE popping up a temporary XFL Hall of Fame to drum up publicity.
The episode about the failed experiment, which was a collaborative effort of Vince McMahon and Dick Ebersol will be titled “This Was The XFL” and it will air tonight at 9pm EST on ESPN.
