Xavier Woods recently spoke to Sport’s Illustrated’s Extra Mustard blog about launching the UpUpDownDown YouTube channel and more. During the interview Xavier revealed that one of his biggest goals in WWE is to make sure that Kofi Kingston becomes the WWE Champion.
“‘Stone Cold’ [Steve Austin] explained that if you’re not trying to be heavyweight champion, then you’re in the wrong business. That’s interesting to me because my goal is to make sure Kofi becomes heavyweight champion. He is the guy who absolutely deserves it over anyone else in the company. My long-term goal is to help, in whatever way I can, Kofi become heavyweight champion.” Woods said.
Woods also revealed that there are plans for Triple H and Vince McMahon to appear on UpUpDownDown at some point in the future. He also mentioned that he brings a PS4 with him wherever he goes and that he likes to use video games as a way to bring the WWE roster together.
“Every generation of guys has their thing that brings them together. I’m very much about the camaraderie of what we do. When I got on the main roster [in 2013], I wanted to find something to bring us all together. We all love wrestling, and that’s a given, but we’re all from different places, and to find something else outside of work that brings us together and finds common ground is really nice. It may seem trivial, but to have everyone sitting in a room–and, like any job, there are guys who don’t like each other and some guys that love each other–cheering and freaking out over two guys playing Madden. Getting hyped with friends playing a game that you all enjoy is a lot of fun.”
