Social media has been buzzing ever since The Rock returned to Friday Night SmackDown last week. The Great One seemingly set up a match with Roman Reigns when he confronted The Tribal Chief, and fans have responded by rallying behind Cody Rhodes.
Cody was trending all weekend and fans continued to show support for him this week on Raw. At one point during the show fans were chanting “Rocky sucks” which Michael Cole reacted to by asking if it’s 1996.
WrestleVotes is now reporting that the “Rocky sucks” chants threw certainly people off. WWE has been leaning into the viral reaction, but it’s being said that the chants were unexpected.

While The Rock vs. Roman Reigns hasn’t been confirmed just yet the match is expected to be announced at the WrestleMania 40 press conference in Las Vegas on Thursday. Michael Cole did note on Raw that the match has not been made official yet.
