The men’s WarGames match main evented Survivor Series on Saturday night and the match gave fans plenty to talk about. Bron Breakker pinned CM Punk to win the match after a mysterious masked man interfered, and Roman Reigns told Cody Rhodes that this is the last time they will team together as the show went off the air.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the finish with Bron Breakker pinning CM Punk was meant to tell a story. The idea coming out of Survivor Series is we’re supposed to know that WWE is setting up Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes and CM Punk vs. Bron Breakker as the championship matches for WrestleMania 42.

During the Survivor Series post-show Triple H said that Roman Reigns has almost transcended the business to the point where he’s bigger than a championship. He also questioned whether or not Roman will have to earn a title shot via traditional means such as a Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber win.

“When you have a star the size of Roman Reigns, he transcends the world title, he transcends the Royal Rumble, he transcends the Elimination Chamber. Does he really need to qualify or does he just call his shot? That’s a decision that we here in the WWE need to make very shortly. I have a feeling that one of those two guys, CM Punk or Cody Rhodes, is on a collision course with Roman Reigns. It’s going to be interesting to see where that goes.”

WrestleMania 42 will air live from Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2026. Stay tuned for updates.
