Gunther made his way down to the ring this week on Monday Night Raw and he discussed the current landscape in the main event scene. He said everyone is worried about personal business, but the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is the only thing that matters. Gunther was interrupted by Jey Uso.
Jey told Gunther that Drew McIntyre is behind him, The Bloodline family drama is behind him, so it’s time for him to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Gunther asked Jey if he was serious about this. The Ring General said it would be naive of him to think he can hold the title forever, but it’s even more naive of Jey to think he could be the one to take the belt from him.
The WWE World Heavyweight Champion reminded Jey that he previously failed to defeat him when he challenged for the Intercontinental Championship. Gunther told Jey that he’s going to remind him what he really is, a really good tag team wrestler. He told Jey that Saturday Night’s Main Event is fine with him, but told Jey to really think about it.
Gunther dropped the mic then left the ring. Jey picked it up and told Gunther that everything he said was true. He admitted that he was scared to do this on his own, but Gunther is going to respect him when he beats Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
