There are a lot of wrestlers who are currently making movies in the industry, and it looks like one WWE veteran is moving on from the company.
Rhyno confirmed during an interview with Chris Van Vliet that his contract would be expiring this month, and today is his last date with the company.
“July 17th is my last date there. They actually offered me more than twice my downside but it wasn’t where they would have to use me because the downside is so large and it wasn’t about money it was about me wanting to be on the road work and helping the younger guys kind of like a player coach.”
In the same interview Rhyno confirmed that WWE offered to double his pay, but he turned down a new contract because he doesn’t want to be paid to stay home. The former ECW Champion noted that he wants to go work with up and coming wrestlers and help the next generation.
In regards to what’s next for Rhyno, he made an appearance recently at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary pay-per-view when he hit Michael Elgin with the Gore. Rhyno was still under contract with WWE when he made the appearance, and he wore a mask so his face couldn’t be seen.
According to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, WWE is unlikely to make a big deal about his appearance at Slammiversary.
