WWE officials are upset over Ring of Honor and Figure Toy Company releasing a Kevin Steen action figure due to the fact that they’re heavily promoting Kevin Owens on WWE television at the moment. The figure obviously shares the same likeness with Kevin Owens due to the fact that they’re the same person.
This will reportedly cause WWE to become more aggressive when it comes to signing stars that they think have potential before they join a company like ROH or TNA who has a merchandising or cable deal. The company is also reportedly trying to get the word out to up and coming wrestlers that if they have aspirations of joining WWE then they shouldn’t sign with ROH or TNA because of these deals.
Some indie talents have signed 5 year deals with Figure Toy Company which means that company will have the right to market Kevin Steen merchandise for 5 years as WWE continues to push him.
