The wrestling landscape has changed quite a bit over the last few months, and AEW has been going head to head with NXT on Wednesday nights.
At AEW’s most recent pay-per-view, Full Gear, Cody Rhodes challenged Chris Jericho for the AEW World Championship, and the match came to an end when MJF threw in the towel for Rhodes.
WWE teased something similar last night when Rey Mysterio challenged Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, and his son Dominick considered throwing in the towel.
The official WWE on FOX Twitter account poked a little fun at the AEW finish when the account posted the following:
“Throwing in the towel? Not in
@WWE. 🤣🤣
#SurvivorSeries”
