All Elite Wrestling has been making waves in the world of professional wrestling, and this week it was announced that their weekly TV series will arrive on TNT on Wednesday, October 2.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE is looking to counter program AEW’s debut show on TNT that night by airing NXT on FS1.
The talks are serious enough that the idea was brought up during a FOX call with Northeastern affiliates last week.
Sources within WWE have reportedly confirmed that the idea is being strongly talked about and was fairly recent in planning coming from AEW signing with TNT.
It’s not known at this point if the plan is for NXT to air live, or if it will be a one hour or two hour show.
If the deal is done the plan is for main roster talents to appear in NXT with a few guys being part of the show here and there.
