You never know what’s going to happen when you watch WWE programming, and Stephanie Vaquer made history a few weeks ago at Roadblock when she defeated Giulia in a Winner Takes All match. Vaquer has been holding the NXT Women’s Championship and the NXT Women’s North American Championship, but now one of her titles has been vacated.
During this week’s episode of NXT, Ava addressed the situation with Stephanie Vaquer holding two title belts. She announced that both titles deserve to be defended frequently, and that both her and Stephanie have decided that the right move is to relinquish the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
Ava went on to state that a new champion will be decided at NXT Stand & Deliver in a six person ladder match. Competitors will be able to earn a spot in the ladder match through a series of qualifying matches.
Stephanie said that she knows this isn’t a popular decision, but she wants to push the NXT women’s division, not stop it. Vaquer also stated that she would only give the title up under the condition that she gets to decide who challenges her for the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand & Deliver.
