This week on Raw Sasha Banks cut an emotional promo, and it seemed that she was trying to tease a possible retirement. After getting emotional and talking about her career, Sasha announced that she will be challenging Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Championship at Clash of Champions.
Earlier in the day Sasha was teasing that she had “bad news” to deliver, and according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, her promo made some talents upset.
The feeling is that the promo was in bad taste because it attempted to channel the emotion of Daniel Bryan’s retirement speech. It was noted by the WON that one veteran talent brought up Edge’s retirement speech, and Tyson Kidd, who has been out of action with an injury for over a year, is another name who was mentioned.
Career ending injuries are a sensitive subject for friends of injured wrestlers, but the heat for the promo appears to be on WWE creative and not Sasha Banks.
