It was reported some time ago that WWE would be taking over talents’ Twitch accounts, and recently fans have seen some of their favorite stars say goodbye to Twitch as WWE’s new edict goes into effect.

PWInsider reports that several talents met with Vince McMahon as they argued against the Twitch ban, and tried to change his mind.

However, given that names such as AJ Styles, Cesaro, Zelina Vega, Mia Yim and Aleister Black have recently suspended their Twitch accounts, it appears that the talks were not successful.

The report also notes that the fear among talents in recent weeks is that if they sign over their Twitch accounts to WWE they could lose a significant amount of money during a time when they are already making less money due to no live events, and merchandise royalties being less.

People on the WWE side have downplayed the fears by pointing out that since talents aren’t traveling their road expenses are down. Most people across the board also signed new deals with higher guarantees, so although they’re making less than originally expected their guarantees are said to be higher than they were a few years ago.

Sources at Twitch have also reportedly confirmed that WWE is making a big push to launch their own Twitch channel, which could launch by the end of the year, if not sooner.
