WWE Talent Reportedly Concerned About Cuts

WWE has been going through major changes over the last few months and the day after WrestleMania 39 it was announced that Endeavor has agreed to acquire WWE. It’s expected that WWE and UFC will merge into one publicly traded company which has led to a lot of speculation regarding whether or not cuts will be made.

WWE CEO Nick Khan recently raised some eyebrows when he said during an interview that he expects aggressive cuts to be made somewhere in the range of $50 million per year. However, Khan did emphasize that he doesn’t expect the cuts to have an impact on production and the WWE product.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there’s a lot of concern among talent, specifically people who were brought back by Triple H after Vince McMahon retired. It was noted that there have been no significant cuts since Triple H took over creative, but there were a lot of signings. It was also noted that lately a lot of the new WWE signees have been Division I college athletes.

Triple H has brought back a number of wrestlers since taking over creative including Bray Wyatt, Karrion Kross, Dakota Kai and Braun Strowman just to name a few. Massive talent cuts became quite common during the pandemic, but WWE has been holding on to talent as of late, so we’ll have to wait and see how things play out once the merger is complete.
