Anything can happen in the world of professional wrestling, and on Saturday WWE surprised everyone when the company announced that Bray Wyatt had been released from his contract. Wyatt had been one of WWE’s top stars for some time, and it was reported that he was released due to budget cuts.
Fightful Select is now reporting that some talents and employees feel as though there is more to Bray Wyatt’s release than it simply being a case of budget cuts.
According to the report nearly 20 people reached out and expressed frustration as Bray Wyatt was known as a “money maker” due to his popularity and how he did with merchandise.
It’s also being said that some veteran stars don’t feel like their jobs are safe anymore regardless of where they are on the card, or how they’ve been booked.
Bray Wyatt last competed at WrestleMania 37 when he was defeated by Randy Orton in the opening match of Night 2. He made his final appearance on WWE programming during the Raw after WrestleMania when he was featured in a Firefly Funhouse segment.
