The WWE rosters have been going through a bit of a shake up recently as new names and faces are being added to Raw and SmackDown. During last week’s episode of SmackDown a former WWE star returned to the company when Matt Cardona showed up to face Kit Wilson.
Cardona has confirmed that he signed a new WWE contract which means he has to wrap things up on the independent scene. Recently Matt Cardona announced that he had to vacate the ACW Championship, and he has also vacated the World Series Wrestling Championship as well.
Matt Cardona posted a video and he addressed the situation with the title when he said, “Good news, after five years of busting my a** all over the world in places like World Series Wrestling, I am finally back in WWE. But unfortunately that means I must vacate the World Series Wrestling Championship. I won’t be there in May, but the good news is the show goes on without me. The good news is at the Rise Against Tour there will be a new World Series Wrestling Champion. I was proud, so proud to be the champion three times. World Series Wrestling, all the fans in Australia, you guys are like family to me, and I will miss you all.”
WSW issued the following statement:
“WSW congratulates @TheMattCardona on his return to @WWE!
Today we were informed that Cardona would be VACATING the @WSWWrestlingAUS World Championship! We will be crowning a NEW champion at the Rise Against tour in May, the question is who will it be?!”
