A few weeks ago AJ Styles was officially traded from Monday Night Raw to Friday Night SmackDown.
The Phenomenal One competed in the Intercontinental Title tournament, and he ended up defeating Daniel Bryan in the finals to win the championship for the first time in his career.
Styles seems to be quite proud of the fact that he’s IC Champion, and he successfully defended the belt against Drew Gulak on SmackDown, then stated in a backstage interview that he may hold the belt until he retires.
Even though AJ Styles plans on holding the belt for a long time, one WWE Superstar made away with the belt, temporarily at least, when Lacey Evans stole the title while AJ was doing a photo shoot.

Prior to the start of the Intercontinental Title tournament the belt was held by Sami Zayn, but he was forced to vacate the championship after he decided to sit out due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s not clear when he might be returning.
