Business has been picking up in the tag team division on Monday Night Raw recently, and The New Day have made it clear that they want a shot at the WWE World Tag Team Championship.
This week on Raw, The New Day made their way down to the ring then Adam Pearce came out to address them. He told Woods and Kingston that if they want a title shot they’re going to have to earn it. Pearce then introduced their opponents, Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne, New Catch Republic.
Tyler Bate has been out of action since July as he suffered a torn pectoral muscle that sidelined him. He last appeared on the July 2, 2024 episode of NXT when New Catch Republic faced off against Hank & Tank.
Unfortunately for New Catch Republic it was The New Day who picked up the win when they hit their double team finisher on Pete Dunne then Kofi pinned him.
After the match Cathy Kelley interviewed The New Day and they demanded a shot at the WWE World Tag Team Championship. The War Raiders’ music hit and the champions made their way out into the arena to confront The New Day. The two teams stared each other down as the segment ended.
