Over the last year quite a few names have been released from their WWE contracts, and now it seems that a former NXT Champion could be on their way out.
Wrestling Inc. reports that Andrade has requested to be released from his WWE contract. The report notes that Andrade requested to be released when he was backstage at Monday Night Raw earlier this week.
At this point it is not clear if WWE will be granting his release request.
It’s also worth noting that Andrade removed WWE from his Twitter handle recently and changed it from @AndradeCienWWE to @AndradeElIdolo.
Andrade last appeared on Raw back in October of 2020. He then took time off to undergo a minor procedure. It was believed that he was only scheduled to be out of action for about a month, but he never returned to TV.
