Ryback challenged Kalisto for the WWE United States Championship at Payback, but when Raw rolled around he didn’t appear on television. PWInsider is reporting that the word going around backstage is that Ryback has been pulled from TV indefinitely. According to one version of the story, Ryback asked to be pulled from TV.
The report goes on to mention that Ryback and WWE have been trying to negotiate a new contract and the two sides aren’t exactly seeing eye to eye on the new deal. It was noted that his current contract with WWE expires this summer.
Ryback recently expressed frustration over the fact that his United States Championship match with Kalisto was on the WrestleMania 32 kickoff show and not the main card. When he faced off against Kalisto at Payback he showed up to the ring wearing a weight belt that said “Pre-Show Stopper.” The former Intercontinental Champion recently spoke to Dubai radio personality and he told him that he’s heard hard work doesn’t always pay off in the wrestling business.
“I’ve heard in this business hard work doesn’t always pay off. Maybe The Big Guy has to go find another world where that does pay off. But you work really, really hard at something and you dedicate yourself, and you sometimes have to be told you’re somewhere else. That’s a tough pill to swallow time and time again but I’ve never stopped believing in myself and I never will. Next year should undoubtedly be a big year for The Big Guy.”
