Fans have seen some interesting names get called up from NXT in 2020, and earlier this year The Forgotten Sons were called up to Friday Night SmackDown.
The trio didn’t last long as a unit on the blue brand, as they were pulled from TV after Jaxson Ryker received backlash on social media for posting a tweet supporting President Donald Trump.
On the most recent episode of SmackDown, Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake returned to TV working as henchmen for King Corbin, but Jaxson Ryker did not return with them.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there’s a reason why Ryker wasn’t there, and that Cutler and Blake ended up getting the heat from Ryker’s tweet, which also got him heat in the locker room.
It was also noted that WWE hasn’t gotten around to releasing Ryker yet, but he’s expected to be part of the next round of cuts. It’s not clear when he’ll be let go, as WWE isn’t in a hurry to release him, but he will likely be part of the next round of releases.
Fightful Select recently reported that there is still backstage heat on Jaxson Ryker because of his Trump tweet, and his controversial comments about the Black Lives Matter movement.
He has reportedly been at home in North Carolina since he was taken off TV, and he has not been at the Performance Center or Amway Center.
Stay tuned for more updates on Jaxson Ryker’s status as they become available.
