Tonight, Luke Harper and AJ Styles will battle to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship. The winner is meant to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 33, but there has been a lot of speculation during this week that WWE officials are planning something big.

It was reported that several WWE officials are against Luke Harper winning the match clean despite the fact it would make him a star overnight. The powers that be don’t feel that Luke is ready for the role or a WWE Championship match on the grandest stage of them all.
Based on the rumors, AJ Styles will be feuding with Shane McMahon through WrestleMania 33. If Styles wins tonight, his “title opportunity” will be used to build the rivalry with Shane O’Mac. On paper, WWE officials are struggling to decide on a winner, which leaves option C.
CageSideSeats is reporting that WWE officials have yet to choose between Harper or Styles to win the match tonight on SmackDown. With that in mind, Harper vs. Styles may have a dusty finish, which means Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt could still be the WWE Title match at WrestleMania 33.
