The stars of Ring of Honor battled Friday night at Best in the World in Lowell, MA, and a major title change took place. ROH World Champion Christopher Daniels put his title on the line against “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, and Cody defeated Daniels to win his first ROH World Championship. After an action packed back and forth match, the former WWE star was able to put Christopher Daniels away with the Cross Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes parted ways with WWE in 2016, and since then he’s been blazing his own trail on the independent circuit. Rhodes made his Ring of Honor debut at Final Battle in December of 2016, and he turned heel after his first match.
Cody Rhodes will have the chance to make history once again when he challenges Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in a few weeks at the NJPW G1 Special.
