WWE Star Thinks That The UK Deserve To Hold A Pay-Per-View

WWE is currently on the European Tour, that includes Monday Night Raw live from the Manchester Evening News Arena tonight, followed by SmackDown from the same location tomorrow night.

Ahead of the event, Finn Balor spoke to Sky Sports, and it seems that the Irish Superstar would love to see the British audience granted the opportunity to see their first pay-per-view on their home soil in almost three decades.

He said: “I love the idea of doing international pay-per-views and I don’t see why we should be anchored, so to speak, to the United States. Obviously, there are issues of time zones and logistics but that’s for someone else to figure out.

“The fans here deserve a pay-per-view in the United Kingdom. They haven’t had one since 1992 and that one went down as one of the greatest pay-per-views in WWE history.

“Why it hasn’t been done since then is beyond me. People above me will make excuses about how it’s not financially beneficial to the company but I think there are more important things beyond the bottom line and that’s giving the fans what they want at any cost.”

The last event that WWE held outside North America was back at SummerSlam in 1992 when The British Bulldog and Bret Hart main evented the show at Wembley Stadium, since then the company has preferred to present their pay-per-view events on home soil because of time changes for fans all over the world.

WWE has recently signed a number of talent from the UK and presented the first ever WWE United Kingdom Tournament, which has proved that there is still a market to have a pay-per-view in Britain.

With rumours that WWE could be branching out and thinking of holding WrestleMania outside of America in the coming years, this will welcome news for many international fans all over the world.
