Earlier this year John Cena made a surprise appearance at the Money in the Bank premium live event and he officially announced that he’s retiring at the end of 2025.
There’s certainly no shortage of WWE stars who are hoping to face John Cena during his retirement tour, but time is of the essence as Cena has stated that he will likely work around 36 dates for WWE, so Cena only has so many matches left.
On the most recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis told Carmelo Hayes that he has special opponent lined up for him. Hayes recently took to social media to question whether or not that opponent could be the one and only John Cena when he posted the following:
“@RealNickAldis? #Smackdown”
John Cena recently announced that he will be competing in the 30 man Royal Rumble match in February, but not other matches have been confirmed for his retirement tour as of this writing.
