Last week on Friday Night SmackDown, Carmelo Hayes decided to confront General Manager Nick Aldis who told Hayes that he had a special opponent in mind for him. All week fans have been speculating on who the mystery opponent could be, and it turned out to be none other than former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman.
The Monster Among Men made his return to WWE TV this week and he defeated Carmelo Hayes in what was essentially a squash match. The end of the match came when Carmelo Hayes jumped off the top rope only to be caught by Braun Strowman who then put Hayes away with the running powerslam for the win.
In recent weeks the Raw and SmackDown General Managers have been shuffling the deck with a transfer window. Now it seems that Strowman has joined the blue brand as the commentary team confirmed that he is now officially part of the SmackDown roster.
Prior to this week’s episode of SmackDown, Braun Strowman last wrestled on television when he faced off against Bronson Reed in a Last Monster Standing match during the 9/30 episode of Raw. Following the match it was reported that Strowman suffered a torn groin. Strowman returned to the ring last month when he competed in a dark match at the 11/15 SmackDown tapings
