WrestleMania season was full of surprises and fans saw Johnny Gargano make his return to NXT ahead of the Stand & Deliver premium live event. Gargano picked up a win over Grayson Waller at NXT Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend, but he hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since.
Fightful Select is reporting that Johnny Gargano re-aggravated the shoulder injury that sidelined him for most of January. Gargano had a few matches in his first few weeks back and went on to wrestle over a dozen matches after March 4th.
It’s being said that Johnny Gargano’s shoulder injury got worse after the Royal Rumble, and by the time he faced Grayson Waller at Stand & Deliver he was severely hampered and using one arm. The hope is that Gargano will be able to avoid surgery and repair the arm through physical therapy.
There was some speculation that Gargano has been absent because Vince McMahon returned to the fold, but it’s being reported that’s not the case. McMahon was said to be directly involved with trying to keep Johnny Gargano with the company in late 2021. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
