This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured some big matches as three titles were defended during the show, and two of them changed hands. While the stars of Raw delivered some hard hitting in-ring action for the fans it appears that at least one unknown name is in concussion protocol.
Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that he was told somebody on Raw, who is not Bron Breakker, is in concussion protocol following the show.
“Somebody on Raw last night, I was told is in concussion protocol today. It is not Bron Breakker who landed on his head. Bron Breakker was cleared after the show. It’s possible it was CM Punk because that guy landed right on his face. He was going for a tope and Bron was supposed to clobber him out of midair, and I don’t know what happened, or if something went wrong, but that guy went straight down and his head bounced on the black mats. They did one spot outside, got back in the ring and went right to the finish. Granted that’s when the match was supposed to end, so it was probably going to be the finish one way or another. But if he wasn’t in concussion protocol after that I would’ve put him there because that looked brutal.
Lance Storm also noted that Kairi Sane took a Razor’s Edge and seemingly landed on her head, but continued the match. Alvarez speculated that Punk looked like he wasn’t all there. Both men noted that concussion protocol does not mean the wrestler has necessarily suffered a concussion.
Currently it’s not clear who was placed in concussion protocol, but hopefully it’s nothing more than WWE being cautious.
