This week’s episode of NXT was the go-home show for the Halloween Havoc premium live event. Ahead of the show the NXT Women’s North American Champion and NXT Women’s Speed Champion Sol Ruca posted a video on social media saying that due to recent occurrences she would have to address the NXT Universe.
When Sol Ruca appeared on NXT this week she was shown walking on crutches while wearing a knee brace. Sol announced that she suffered an injury during the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match on SmackDown last week. She told the fans that she doesn’t know when she’ll be cleared, so she will not be able to defend the NXT Women’s North American Championship against Blake Monroe at Halloween Havoc. Ava asked Sol Ruca about the Women’s Speed Championship and Sol said she’d rather not talk about it right now.
Blake Monroe interrupted and said that since Sol isn’t cleared then she should be the NXT Women’s Champion. Zaria chimed in and told Blake Monroe that there are no handouts in NXT. Monroe fired back as she declared that the brand needs a champion.
Zaria then suggested that she can defend the NXT Women’s Championship in Sol Ruca’s honor. Ava said it’s Sol Ruca’s title, so she can decide, and Sol approved of the idea. It was then officially announced that Blake Monroe will face Zaria for the title at Halloween Havoc.
