Saturday was a big night for wrestling fans as the WWE Payback premium live event took place in Pittsburgh, PA and AEW Collision aired live from Chicago. Ahead of Collision, Tony Khan made a huge announcement when he revealed that CM Punk’s AEW contract had been terminated.

The wrestling world has been reacting to the big news and Grayson Waller seemingly referenced the CM Punk situation when he posted a photo of himself with a Pepsi can. Waller also joked that Jey Uso should be fired following the unprovoked attack that took place at Payback.

Grayson Waller hosted the Grayson Waller Effect at Payback with Cody Rhodes as his special guest. However, Jey Uso quickly became the focus of the segment as Cody Rhodes announced that Jey Uso was returning to join the Raw brand.

Jey Uso then made his way out to a new entrance theme as he walked down to the ring. After Cody Rhodes exited the ring Grayson Waller talked trash to Jey Uso and Jey responded by hitting Waller with a superkick.

Now that CM Punk has parted ways with AEW there’s been a lot of speculation regarding whether or not he could return to WWE, but only time will tell whether or not the company has any interest in bringing him back.
