Earlier this week WWE filed a number of new trademarks with the USPTO, some of which were assumed to be new ring names. Two of the trademarks were for Tristan Angels and Dorian Van Dux, and now it’s been revealed who the Tristan Angels name belongs to.
Last year WWE confirmed several new NXT signings including Nathaniel Cranton, who had previously wrestled under the name Nathan Angel. Nathaniel Cranton has been wrestling under his real name at NXT live events, but he recently confirmed that he will be using the name Tristan Angels moving forward when he updated his social media profiles.
It’s certainly not uncommon for wrestlers to change their name after signing with WWE as we’ve seen recently with Powerhouse Hobbs who debuted as Royce Keys at the Royal Rumble. As of this writing it’s not clear who will be using the name Dorian Van Dux, but it’s likely to be revealed sooner than later.
